I know what you’re thinking: You want me to pay how much for 6 pieces of plastic that don’t do anything? They are a little bit pricey for what they are, but the truth is that you really need to protect your cartridges, and these are designed very well. The real problem with cartridge games is the open face of the cartridge that’s unprotected. Dust, a spilled drink, grubby fingers, carpet fuzz — you name it — they’re all waiting to get inside the cartridge and cook it (along with maybe your GBA too!).These plastic cases are very sturdy and fit snugly — they add an awful lot of protection since the cartridge nearly fits entirely inside the shell. The most important protection is of course the fact that the open side is completely enclosed. The cases have no “hinges” or moving parts. I like this construction because a “plastic hinge” can break after lots of use. The design is simple, making it that more resistant to abuse. The snug fit and sturdy protection are very necessary if you’re going to put cartridges in a backpack, bookbag, or suitcase where they might get crushed. Also worth mentioning is that the cases will fit over the ends of the old Gameboy cartridges. This won’t entirely protect the old cartridges (they are much larger) but they will do the important job of protecting the open face.

This is great because the small games don’t come with rpotectorrs or dust covers as did the old GB games. SO now you can get these little plastic protectors to protect your little games and to keep dust out which will make the games last longer under heavy use.

Okay, as a kid, I admit–I didn’t take too good of care of my Nintendo (the original), so the games were always dirty, and explains why I never got another gaming system. I just received a Gameboy Advance for my birthday, and I pledge to take good care of it. So first thing, these cases–thay aren’t too special but they cover the bottom of the game, which is what its job is. Simple as that. I rate them high because I think this is a great idea. Oh, just a warning, I bought my cases from an actuall Toys r’ Us store (not online)–they only come in a 6 pack of two colors each of white, glacier and indigo. They might come in other colors online, I don’t know, but that’s all I saw.

The only dissapointment I found was the colors are meant to match the 3 major GBA system colors, which is nice, I guess, but they don’t match my other GBC cases. Also, onlike the “Nyko” GBC Care Cases, which open up like a miniature cigar box and snap shut, these cases are just a sleeve. You put the game in on top and it sorta snaps into place. The GBC design is better, but oh well.

If you try to order the GBA 6-Pak Care Case through http://www.Amazon.com right now, you’ll probably see them being distributed by gameasylum. As his comment indicates, his cases are not from Nyko. However, he’s the only person currently selling quantity for low cost … As such, I’m happy with his price. The cases are designed to be simple and effective. They are about the same size of the games so you won’t find your games wasting extra space like with Mad Catz cases. They’re also cheaper (as of today) and feel much more durable. I ended up with 6 clear ones but colors are assorted. You can easily see the game though the case. Only GBA games will fit in these cases but other GB games include cases so I don’t see an issue. These cases are almost the same thing as GB cases but smaller.
